
INTRODUCTION
- Kesava Menon was a patriot, idealist and Indian freedom fighter.
 - Kesava Menon was the founder of Mathrubhumi.
 - His Autobiography is “Kazhinja Kalam”(Past Time).
 - In 1966, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian honour.
 
A WALK THROUGH HIS LIFE

- He was born on September 1, 1886 in Tharoor village of Palakkad District,Kerala,India
 - His Father’s name is Bhimanachan and Mother’s name is Meenakshi Amma.
 - He got Graduated in Arts from Madras University and later studied Bar-at-Law.
 - He became a member of the Indian National Congress in 1915.
 - In 1919,He organized sweepers and rickshaw drivers in Madras and joined them to the Indian National Congress.
 - He became attracted to Gandhian ideals in 1921 and joined the Non-Cooperation Movement.
 - He was the KPCC secretary during the Mapila riots.
 - He was one of the first people in Kerala to support the abolition of untouchability.
 - He became the Founder of Mathrubhumi in 1923.
 - He was appointed as High Commissioner to Ceylon but later resigned due to differences with the authorities.
 - In 1924, He led the Vaikom Satyagraha in Travancore.
 - He was the first executive president of Sahitya Akademi.
 - He was also a great author.He wrote books based on His Travels and Life Experiences.
 - His autobiography “Kazhinja Kalam” has been published by Mathrubhumi Books.
 - He died on November 9, 1978.
