VAYALAR RAMAVARMA was an INDIAN POET and LYRICIST of Malayalam Language.
He lost father at an early age and his Education was in the traditional Gurukula.
He Followed Education at the Sanskrit school as well as Cherthala English School.
He started writing poetry while in School,Publishing the first poem in “SWARAT” School magazine.
He started a weekly in 1951,under the name Janathipatyam,but the weekly,which published articles promoting Communist ideal,did not last long.
He received the “NATIONAL FILM AWARD FOR BEST LYRICS” in 1972 and was the winner of the “KERALA STATE FILM AWARD”for best Lyrics in the same Year.
He received “KERALA STATE FILM AWARD” three more times besides in 1972.
He received “KERALA SAHITYA AKADEMI AWARD” for poetry in 1962.
VAYALAR SARATH CHANDRA VARMA is the son of him.
