PLASTIC is a “SYNTHETIC MATERIAL” that can be molded when soft and formed into a solid shape.
USAGE OF PLASTIC?
Due to their relatively low Cost, Easy to Manufacture and resistant to water, Plastics are used in a wide range of out daily used products.
Plastics have replaced many old materials such as Wood, Leather, Glass, Metals etc.
Plastics are used from paper Clips, Toys, Packing materials, Geocery sags, credit cards to even space ships.
In INDIAN,42%of INDIA’S FOOD PRODUCT PACKING is done with Plastic.
EFFECTS OF PLASTIC
After the usage of plastic materials, we throw the plastic waste. This waste is consumed by many animals around us thinking as food.
This leads to the death of many animals because this plastic materials create a block in their digestive system which leads to the death of the Animals .
TYPES OF PLASTIC POLLUTION
1)LAND POLLUTION
The throwing of plastic waste has led to the destruction of soil and other elements present in the land.
This plastic waste decreases the fertility of the soil and soon the land become useless.
Since this plastic waste contains a lot of chemical they leads to the production of several Bacteria and Viruses containing deadly diseases.
2)WATER POLLUTION
Besides throwing plastic wastes on Land, we throw plastic waste into water bodies also.
The chemicals in the plastic waste gets mixed with the water. This contaminates the water and decreases the quality of the water.
Also by consuming this plastic waste, Fishes and other Marine Animals will die.
Studies shows that over 40%of the “Ocean Surfaces” are full of Plastic Waste.
3)AIR POLLUTION
The combustion of plastic materials in the air releases Poisonous gases that is dangerous for Human Beings as well as other Animals.
When the Human Beings or other Animals in hale this poisonous gases ,it causes ”RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS” and other health effects.
Studies have proven that inhaling this poisonous gases leads to “CANCER”.
SOLUTION TO PLASTIC WASTE
Recently, our PRIME MINISTER said on UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE that “I think the time has come for the world to say goodbye to single use plastics”.
Some of the practically possible solutions are.
Replace Plastic Bag with Reusable cloth Bags.
Replace plastic Bottled water with Refillable stainless steel bottles.
Say no to Straws.
Make Different home Gadgets like Flower vase etc from plastic waste’s.
