Contributions of taxonomy Charakan-ചരകൻ

Charakan was a 17th-century Indian physician who made significant contributions to the taxonomy of plants. He was the first to describe plants in terms of their anatomical features, and he identified and classified plants using the terms “roots,” “leaves,” “flowers,” and “fruits.” He also described and classified the root, stem, leaves, flowers, and fruits of plants according to their shape, size, and color, and he provided detailed descriptions of the medicinal properties of various plants. Charakan’s work was the first systematic attempt to classify plants according to their characteristics and was highly influential in the development of modern taxonomy.
