• Chanakya was born into a Brahmin family in Takshashila
• He was a professor of political science and economics in the takshashila University in takshashila
• He served as the chief advisor Chandragupta mayura and helped a lot in the establishment of the mayura Empire
• Mayura Empire was the first empire to rule most of the Indian subcontinent
• His advices helped Chandragupta mayura to defeated the power Nanda dynasty in pataliputra
• He advices Chandragupta mayura to developed a strong spy system reaching all levels of society and supported secret assassination
• Chanakya also served as the chief advisor to the sun of Chandragupta Maurya Bindusara
• Bindusara was the father of great emperor Ashoka
• It was only because of Chanakya the Marian Empire under Chandragupta Maurya and Ashoka become a model of efficient government

Arthashastra (economics)
Niti Shastra (Chanakya Niti)
• He is often compared to Aristotle had similar views about efficient governance
• His books where lost towards the end of the Gupta dynasty but later discovered in 1915
