BIOGRAPHY OF MAMMOOTTY

  • Mammootty born as Muhammad Kutty Ismail Paniparambil on 7 September 1951 is an Indian film actor and producer who works in Malayalam cinema.
  • In a career of 40 years  he has appeared in over 400 films mostly in Malayalam language and also in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
  •  He is one of the most successful actors in the history of Indian Cinema.

A WALK THROUGH HIS LIFE

  • Mammootty was born to Ismail and Fatima in Chempu, Kottayam district, Kerala, India.
  •  He was the eldest of three childrens.
  •  He attended Government High School, Kulasekharamangalam and Government Victoria College, Palakkad.
  • He earned his Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam.
  • Mammootty began his acting career in 1979 with the film Anubhavangal Paalichakal.
  • Since then, he has acted in over 400 films, including many commercially successful films.
  • He won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film Mathilukal (1990).
  •  He has also won three Kerala State Film Awards and nine Filmfare Awards South.
  • Mammootty is well known for his humanitarian activities and social service.
  • He is the Chairman of the Malayalam Communications, which runs the Malayalam television channels Kairali TV, People TV, and WE TV.
  •  He has also founded the charitable trust, Palakkad Welfare Trust, which works on the social and economic development of the people in his hometown of Palakkad.
  • Apart from his film career, Mammootty is an avid reader and a lover of books.
  •  He is also an avid sports enthusiast and has played cricket, football and tennis.
  • He has also acted in many stage plays and has been involved in political activities.
  •  He is currently the brand ambassador of Kerala Tourism.
