Mixtures are substances that are made up of two or more components that are not chemically combined. Mixtures can be classified into two broad categories: homogeneous mixtures and heterogeneous mixtures.
Homogeneous Mixtures: These mixtures have a uniform composition throughout and form a single phase. Examples include air, salt water, and alloys.
Heterogeneous Mixtures: These mixtures consist of two or more phases and the composition is not uniform throughout. Examples include oil and water, sand and water, and soil.
