Natural frequency is the frequency at which an object naturally vibrates when it is disturbed from its equilibrium or rest position. It is an inherent property of the object and is determined by its mass, stiffness, and the medium through which it vibrates. Natural frequencies are also known as resonant frequencies and are used to describe the behaviour of many types of mechanical, electrical, and acoustic systems.
