Alkenes – ആൽക്കീൻസ്

Alkenes are hydrocarbons that contain a double bond between two carbon atoms. The general formula for an alkenes is CnH2n. Alkenes are important in the production of fuels, plastics, rubber, detergents, and pharmaceuticals.
Example: Ethene (C2H4) is an alkene that has two carbon atoms and four hydrogen atoms. It is the simplest alkene and is used in the production of polyethylene, ethanol, and ethylene oxide.
