post: 2020/07/05 കഥകളുടെ സുല്‍ത്താന്‍ വൈക്കം മുഹമ്മദ് ബഷീര്‍ വിടവാങ്ങിയിട്ട്  വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ പിന്നിട്ടു . 1994 ജൂലൈ അഞ്ചിനാണ് അദ്ദേഹം കഥാലോകത്തുനിന്ന് വിടവാങ്ങിയത്. 1908 ജനുവരി 21-നു തലയോലപ്പറമ്പിലായിരുന്നു ജനനം. ഇന്നത്തെ ഗവണ്‍മെന്റ് യുപി സ്കൂളായ പഴയ മുഹമ്മദീന്‍ പള്ളിക്കൂടത്തിലായിരുന്നു പ്രാഥമിക വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം. 1924-ല്‍ വൈക്കം സത്യഗ്രഹത്തില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കാനെത്തിയ ഗാന്ധിജിയെ കാണുന്നതിനായി വൈക്കത്തെത്തിയ ബഷീര്‍ സമരത്തില്‍ ആകൃഷ്ടനായി സ്വാതന്ത്യ്രസമരത്തില്‍ പങ്കാളിയായി. 1930-ല്‍ ഉപ്പുസത്യഗ്രഹത്തില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കാനായി മലബാറിലെത്തിയ ബഷീര്‍ അറസ്റിലായി മൂന്നുമാസം കണ്ണൂര്‍ സെന്‍ട്രല്‍ ജയിലില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞു.  തലയോലപ്പറമ്പില്‍നിന്നു …

ബഹിരാകാശ സഞ്ചാരം നടത്തിയ ആദ്യത്തെ ഇന്ത്യൻ വംശജയാണ് കൽപന ചൗള. ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ജനിച്ച് അമേരിക്കൻ പൗരത്വം എടുത്ത് കല്പന 2003-ലെ കൊളംബിയ ബഹിരാകാശ വാഹനം ദുരന്തത്തിൽ മരണമടഞ്ഞു. 1997 ലും നാസയുടെ ബഹിരാകാശ യാത്രയിൽ അംഗമായിരുന്നു.   ജീവിതരേഖ ഹരിയാനയിലെ കർണാലിലാണ് കൽപ്പന ജനിച്ചത്. കർണാടകയിലെ കർണാലിലെ “ടാഗോർബാൽ നികേതനിലയിരുന്നു” സ്കൂൾ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം. 1982 പഞ്ചാബ് എൻജിനീയറിംങ് കോളജിൽ നിന്ന് എയറോനോട്ടിക്കൽ എൻജിനീയറിങ്ങിൽ ബിരുദമെടുത്തു ഒരേയൊരു വനിതയായിരുന്നു കൽപന ചൗള. ആകാശ കൗതുകങ്ങളോടുള്ള അതിയായ അഭിനിവേശമായിരുന്നു മറ്റാരും …
