Autumn: Temperatures start to decline and days become shorter. Rainfall increases, and leaves start to change color as trees prepare for winter. Harvest season begins and many animals start to migrate south.
Winter: Winter is the coldest season of the year. Temperatures are low and daylight hours are short. Snowfall is common in many areas, and plants and trees become dormant. Animal life hibernates or migrates away.
