External ear : Auditory canal – ബാഹ്യ കർണം : കർണനാളം

The auditory canal (also known as the external acoustic meatus or the external auditory canal) is the pathway running from the outside of the head to the eardrum. It is a curved tube, approximately one inch long, lined with skin and containing tiny hairs and cerumen (ear wax). The function of the auditory canal is to direct sound waves to the eardrum and protect the delicate structures of the ear.
