Frictional force is the force which resists the relative motion between two objects in contact. It is a non-contact force and is the result of the electromagnetic forces between the particles of the two surfaces. Frictional force acts in a direction opposite to the motion of the object and its magnitude is proportional to the normal reaction between the surfaces.
