DEFINITION
- The “FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS”are defined as the “BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS OF ALL INDIAN CITIZENS”
- FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS are applied to all INDIAN CITIZENS irrespective of their place of birth religion,caste creed or gender
SIX FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS OF INDIAN CITIZEN UNDER THE CONSTITUTION OF INDIA.
1) RIGHT TO EQUALITY
- RIGHT TO EQUALITY is provided from articles 14 to article 18 of INDIAN CONSTITUTION.
- RIGHT TO EQUALITY includes EQUALITY before LAW,prohibition of DISCRIMINATION on the basis of gender,place of birth,religion,caste creed etc.
- EQUALITY OF OPPURTUNITY in areas of Employement,abolition of UNTOUCHABILITY
2) RIGHT TO FREEDOM
- RIGHT TO FREEDOM is provided from article 19 to article 22 of INDIAN CONSTITUTION.
- RIGHT TO FREEDOM includes the FREEDOM of speech and expression,right to practice any profession or occupation RIGHT to life and liberty PROTECTION against arrest and imprisonment in certain cases .
3) RIGHT AGAINST EXPLOITATION
- RIGHT AGAINST EXLOITATION is provided from article 23 to Article 24 of INDIAN CONSTITUTION.
- RIGHT AGAINST EXPLOITATION prohibits all types of forced labour,child labour and exploitation of human beings.
