Born in New York City in 1911, Barbera began his career in the 1930s, working at various animation studios. He met Hanna at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) in 1937, where they collaborated on the creation of Tom and Jerry. The cat-and-mouse duo quickly became a sensation, winning numerous Academy Awards.
In 1957, Hanna and Barbera left MGM to form their own studio, Hanna-Barbera Productions. They pioneered the production of animated television shows, creating a string of hits that captivated audiences of all ages.
