KARL MARX

INTRODUCTION

  • KARL MARX was a German Philosopher,Journalist,Economist and socialist Revolutionary.
  • His works “THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO” and “DAS KAPITAL” forms the basis of “MARXISM”.
  • KARL MAX is known as one of the “Architects of modern social science”.

“A WALK THROUGH HIS REVOLUTIONARY LIFE”

  • KARL MAX was born in PRUSSIA,GERMANY.
  • He was educated at home until the age of 12.
  • Then he joined “JESUIT HIGH SCHOOL”.
  • In 1835,he joined the “UNIVERSITY OF BONN”During his studies there, he was imprisoned for drunkenness and disturbing the peace of the UNIVERSITY.
  • Thus,his Father took him to the “UNIVERSITY OF BERLIN” to study “LAW AND PHILOSOPHY”.
  • At the “UNIVERSITY OF BERLIN” he become involved with a group of students who criticized the political and religious matters at that time.
  • In 1841,he received his doctorate from the “UNIVERSITY OF JENA”.
  • In 1842,he started working as a JOURNALIST and become the editor of a News paper.
  • In 1843,he married “JENNY VON WESTPHALEN” and moved to PARIS.
  • In 1843,he along with “ARNOLD RUGE” started a political journal. But due to philosophical difference between KARL MARX and ARNOLD RUGE, the journal stopped.
  • In 1845,he and his friend “FRIEDRICH ENGELS” Published the book “THE HOLY FAMILY”
  • When he was writing for another newspaper. which strongly opposed the activities of French Government he was thrown out from FRANCE.
  • From France he moved to BRUSSELS,BELGIUM.
  • In 1846,he founded a “COMMUNIST COMMITTEE” to link “SOCIALISTS” around EUROPE.
  • His ideas inspired SOCIALISTS in ENGLAND to form the “COMMUNIST LEAGUE”.
  • In 1847,the”COMMUNIST LEAGUE” asked him and his friend “FRIEDRICH ENGELS” to write “THE MANIFESTO OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY”.
  • “THE MANIFESTO OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY” commonly known as “THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO” was published in 1848.
  • This publication led the Government to throw him out from BELGIUM.
  • He first went to FRANCE and then went to PRUSSIA,GERMANY but both the nations did not accept him.
  • Thus he moved to LONDON.
  • Although BRITIAN did not allow CITIZENSHIP to him, he stayed in LONDON.
  • In LONDON,MARX co-founded “THE GERMAN WORKER’S EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY” .The Head quarters of the “COMMUNIST LEAGUE” was also established in LONDON”.
  • During 1860’s,MARX became interested in “CAPITALISM” and “ECONOMIC THEORY”.
  • His study on capitalism resulted in the publication of the first volume of “DAS kAPITAL” in 1867.
  • He spent the rest of his life writing the “Next volume of “DAS kAPITAL”
  • He died on march 14,1883 in LONDON,ENGLAND.
  • The last line of the “COMMUNIST MANIFESTO” – “WORKERS OF ALL LAND UNITE” is quoted on a stone near his Grave in LONDON,ENGLAND.
