  • NEIL ARMSTRONG –THE FIRST PERSON TO WALK ON THE MOON
  • He was an AMERICAN ASTRONAUT and AERONAUTICAL ENGINEER.
  • On July 20,1969 NEIL ARMSTRONG stepped from APOLLO 11 vehicle to moon’s dusty surface with the words :                              “That’s one small step for man ,one giant leap for mankind”       “A WALK THROUGH HIS LIFE”
  • He was Born on 5th August,1930 in OHIO ,UNITED STATES.
  • At age 17,He started studying AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING,being the second person in his family to attend college.
  • His studies in AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING were interrupted in 1950 .by his service in KOREAN WAR, where he shot down once. he was awarded there air medals for his bravery.
  •  He completed his degree in 1955,and become a research pilot in NASA.
  • In 1962, he joined the space program.
  • He resigned from NASA in 1971.
  • From 1971 to 1979,he was a professor at the UNIVERSITY OF OHIO.

  MOON LANDING   On July 16,1969, NEIL ARMSTRONG along with EDWIN E.ALDRIN JR AND MICHEL COLLINS, blasted to “MOON” on “APOLLO”11 Vehicle. Four days later ,on July 20,1969 at 10:56 pm, NEIL ARMSTRONG stepped into the surface of MOON, thus creating a new era in space exploration. NEIL ARMSTRONG AND EDWIN ALDRIN collected sample of moon ,took numerous photographs etc.. spending two hour and 31 minutes on the surface of moon. On July 24,at 12:51 pm, they launched back safe in the “PACIFIC”.  The three ASTRONAUTS stayed for 18 days in a cell to prevent any contamination by lunar microbes.
