INTRODUCTION

• Ruskin bond is an Indian author of British origin. He was seen as the son of a British couple when India was under British rule.
• Ruskin bond is famous for writing a lot of inspiring books for children
• He received sahitya academy award in 1992, Padma Shri in 1999, Padma Bhushan in 2014

A WALK THROUGH HIS LIFE

• Ruskin bond was born on 19th May 1934 in Punjab, British India to a British couple
• He loved reading from an earlier age. He was influenced by the works of T. E. Laurence, Charles Dickens, Rudyard Kipling etc.
• In 1950, he graduated from bishop cotton school, Shimla
• In 1951, at the age of 16, he wrote his first short story “UNTOUCHABLE “
• After graduating from bishop cotton school, he went to London in search of a career. In London, he began to write his first novel “THE ROOM ON THE ROOF”.
