Respected teachers and my dear friends,
I am happy to speak on ‘Cruelty to animals’.
First of all we should know what cruelty is. ‘Cruelty’ is the readiness to cause pain or suffering to others. We all are the creation of God. We are born free. We, man and animals, are the children of nature. We all have equal right over the nature. We all depend alike on nature. Man has no special right. Yet man boasts of being the master of other creatures. Man harasses other animals for his pleasure.
Haven’t you noticed the elephants used in festivals of temples? These poor wild animals are caught and trained. They are made to walk kilometers through tarred road under the burning sun for hours. At this time they are not fed. Even water is not given to them. Yet they obey man. Circus animals are tortured. They perform the circus items for man’s pleasure.
Often animals are killed for meat. But you should know that man can survive without eating meat. Can’t we be pure vegetarians? Carnivores kill other animals. It is for food only.
We often fell off trees in the forests. It is a harassment to wild creatures. It is a cruelty to them. It raises problems to the existence of nature.
Man has every facilities. Poor animals do not have them. It is our duty to do the needful to protect them and thus conserve the balance of nature. So be more kind towards them.
Stop cruelty to Animals.
Let them live free.
Let the nature be pleasant.
