Speech-CULTURE

Beloved teachers and dear friends,
As we are a cultured section of the society I am very happy to speak on culture in this auspicious
occasion on culture.
Friends, we should know what culture is. Culture is the measuring scale of civilization. The difference between a civilized society and an uncivilized society lies in their culture. When a set of people live for a long period of time in a geographical area respecting certain values and virtues of life, there comes a fragrance. It is called their culture. The quality of their culture depends upon the type of values they followed. The values are ordered by external condition of their life. Thus the geographical and climatic conditions and environment influence the people and determine their values of life. Once such values are determined and a culture is set, the external environment will have little influence over the culture established. We should think about how external environments and happenings influence one’s own culture.
A poor boy living in a rugged atmosphere of the slums, seems to develop a tendency to protest and fight. At the same time another boy born of wealth and security is seen generally refined and cultured. This can be observed generally in a bus queue. There the latter waits and takes his turn. At the same time the former protests, rushes and forces himself in. Civilization flourishes with the promotion of culture. But when cultured values degenerate, the civilization of a society breaks down. The great religious masters have revived the values of culture.
When culture degenerates cruelty and immorality increase. There arise confusion and disorder among the people. This is the condition of the present world. Reviving the great values is the need of the present world.
Friends, therefore it becomes the primary duty of each one of us to highlight the values for the rest of the mankind to follow and be richly benefited. Hope you will do it.
Thank you all.
