I am happy to have a chance to speak here about discipline. We often hear aged people complaining, ‘the children are indisciplined’.
What is discipline? I should say it is the training of the mind and character. Where do we get the training first from? No doubt, it is from the family itself. Then why do the aged people blame us, children? Aren’t they responsible for our lack of discipline? Shouldn’t they give us lessons on it first? So I remind them of being model to us. Discipline is aimed at self-control. It brings up obedience. It moulds responsibility. Responsibility prompts us to do our duties promptly. It helps us to be free from many difficulties in life. The set rules of conduct make us disciplined. Hope you read daily news about road accidents. These accidents are due to the lack of discipline. Riders and drivers often hesitate to observe the traffic rules. The result is accident. In India the largest number of death reported is due to injury caused by road accidents. These accidents are the fruits of indiscipline.
So, friends, be disciplined in all the walks of life. Make life problem free. Live happily.
