He is popularly known as “NETAJI”
He gave the slogan “JAI HIND”
His famous slogan is “YOU GIVE ME BLOOD. I WILL GIVE YOU FREEDOM”

SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE was born on 23rd January 1897 in cuttack,orissa.
His father”JANAKI NATH BOSE”was a lawyer and his mother “PRABHA VATI DEVI” was a religious lady.
From his child hood itself he was a brilliant student and scored high marks for all subjects.
After his schooling’s,he joined”SCOTTISH CHURCH COLLEGE” in KOLKATA,WEST BENGAL.
In 1918,He graduated from SCOTTISH CHURCH COLLEGE with “FIRST CLASS DEGREE IN PHILOSOPHY”
He was a great admirer of “SWAMI VIVEKANDA”and considered his as his “SPIRITUAL GURU”
His father wanted to make him a CIVIL SERVANT.So he was sent to England to appear for the INDIAN CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION.
He secured fourth rank in the Examination.
Deeply moved by the JALLIAN WALA BAGH MASSACRE in 1919,he left his CIVIL SERVICE dream and came back to INDIA
After his return to INDIA,he got inspired by “MAHATMA GANDHI’S”movements and joined the “INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS”
He was elected as the PRESIDENT of the congress youth wing party
In 1930,during the ‘CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE MOVEMENT”he was sent to jail and was later released after the “GANDHI-IRWIN ACT”in 1931.
After his release,he was banned from entering INDIA.He went to EUROPE and tried to establish strong ties between INDIA and EUROPE.
During one of his visits to INDIA,he was jailed by British authorities for not obeying the ban on his entry to INDIA.
After the GENERAL ELECTION of 1937,CONGRESS came to power in 7 states and he was released.
In 1938,he was elected as the “PRESIDENT OF THE CONGRESS SESSION”
In 1939,he resigned his position due to his differences with MAHATMA GANDHI.
Then he moved to “GERMANY”and tried to join”GERMANY”and “JAPAN”against British empire.
In 1943,he moved to “SINGAPORE”and formed the AZAD HIND FAUJ [INDIAN NATIONAL ARMY] to fight against Britishers The Army consist mainly of INDIANS who were prisoners of war.
The AZAD HIND FAUJ crossed the “BURMA BORDER” and reached INDIA on 18th March 1944.
Since GERMANY and JAPAN were defeated in WORLD WAR-II,the AZAD HIND FAUJ failed to achieve its goal.
On 18th AUGUST,1945,HE WAS DECLARED KILLED IN AN AIR CRASH BUT HIS BODY HAS NOT YET BEEN FOUND.
Though the GOVERNMENT OF INDIA has appointed several committees to investigate the case no results are found.
There are lots of people who still believe that he is still alive.
