Thalamus – തലാമസ്

The thalamus is a complex structure located in the centre of the brain. It is composed of several interconnected nuclei that are involved in many different functions, including relaying sensory information to the cerebral cortex, regulating consciousness, sleep, and alertness, and playing a role in motor control. The thalamus also plays a role in the formation of memories and in the processing of emotions.
