Hiroshima Day-August 6

Hiroshima Day is observed on August 6 every year. The atomic bomb dropped by the US on the city of Hiroshima, Japan in 1945, the final year of World War II, saw the death of a large number of people directly and many died months after the incident due to its effects. In memory of the day and of those who lost their lives, August 6 is marked as Hiroshima Day.

Sixteen hours ago an American airplane dropped one bomb on Hiroshima, an important Japanese Army base. That bomb had more power than 20,000 tons of T.N.T. It had more than two thousand times the blast power of the British “Grand Slam” which is the largest bomb ever yet used in the history of warfare.”
