• NICOLAUS COPERNICUS is still considered as the “FOUNDER OF MODERN ASTRONOMY”
• His observation of the heavens were made with the Naked eye.
•  He is the first man to state that Every planet, including “EARTH REVOLVES AROUND THE SUN”.  He also stated that “The Earth rotate  daily on its axis”

“HIS LIFE AND CONTRIBUTIONS”

• He was born on 1473 in POLAND 
• After his fathers death, he was adopted by his uncle.His uncle was a Bishop in a Catholic Church.
• By the help of his uncle, He was appointed as a  church official of the “CATHOLIC CHURCH”.
• He used the income from his job as church official for his studies
• He studied Law and medicine at the “UNIVERSITY of BOLOGNA” AND “UNIVERSITY OF FERRARA”
• While he was studying at the University of Bologna, he lived in the home of a Mathematician professor who influenced him to study the astronomy beliefs and theories at that time.
• After his return from his studies, he lived in his uncles Bishops palace. There he performed church duties, practiced medicine and studied Astronomy.
•  At that time, Everyone believed in the theory by the Greek Astronomer “PTOLOMY”. PTOLOMY theory was: “Earth was the center of the Universe and was motionless“, ie all Heavenly Bodies moved around the Earth .
•  COPERNICUS felt this Theory is Incorrect. He Calculates the “SUN-CENTERED ASTRONOMY”.
• From his observations, he coned that “Every planet including Earth, revolved around the Sun. “He also stated “Earth rotates daily in its axis”
•    His observations were made with the naked Eye. He died 50 years before GALILEO became the best person to study he the skies with a “TELESCOPE”.
•  By 16008, “GALLEO” developed the physics that stated “COPERNICUS THEORY WAS CORRECT”
• COPERNICUS THEORY had influenced a lot in the field of Scientific Revolutions. Scientists like Galileo, Kepler, Issac Newton, Descartes proved certain Science and laws using his theory.
